Bath Chronicle, Frome Standard and Somerset Guardian Win a Wedding competition Terms and Conditions

  1. Deadline for entries is 12pm noon on Monday 12th June. Any late or incomplete entries will not be included.
  2. Deadline for submitting Prize draw slips is 12pm noon on Tuesday 25th July. Any late slips received will not be counted.
  3. The winning couple will be selected at random from all completed prize draw slips with 500 tokens attached. The Winner will be invited along to Hilton Bath City on Friday 28th July for a personal viewing and a photograph for the paper. The winner will then be announced in the Frome Standard, Somerset Guardian and Bath Chronicle on Thursday 3rd August.
  4. The winning couple will not be confirmed until all submitted prize draw slips have counted and verified by the relevant newspaper titles.
  5. In the event that the winner cannot accept their prize for any reason, we will reselect a prize draw slip at random.
  6. The date of the wedding for the joint Bath Chronicle, Frome Standard and Somerset Guardian win a wedding competition is 1pm on Saturday 17th March 2018 at Hilton Bath City. This date is non-negotiable and non-transferable. No alternative ceremony venue will be offered, any costs resulting from a change of ceremony location will need to be paid for by the winners.
  7. The bride and groom should arrange the Notice of Marriage with Bath and North East Somerset Registration Service, call 01225 477234 for details and current costs. Any costs associated with this will need to be paid for by the winning couple.
  8. The whole prize is non-transferable, in the tragic event the wedding is cancelled there will be no alternative date available and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  9. To enter the competition the entrant must ensure that as a couple you must:
    a) each be legally entitled to marry.
    b) be over the age of 18.
    c) accept the prizes as provided by the sponsors in accordance with their respective terms and conditions, which it is the entrant’s responsibility to check.
    d) not already be a married couple, the competition is not open for ‘renewal of vow’ ceremonies.
  10. Winners may be required to submit valid identification before receiving their prize.
  11. In the event that participants have incurred postage shortfall or entry is lost in post, the Bath Chronicle, Frome Standard, Somerset Guardian or individual suppliers regrets it cannot pay postage costs to obtain entries, nor can it take responsibility for lost or damaged entries.
  12. Retailers and their staff are prohibited from removing tokens from unsold copies of the paper and returning them for credit. Spot checks will be carried out on returns to avoid this. In any instance where this is discovered to be the case, the retailer will not be credited for their returns and the couple in question will be disqualified from the competition.
  13. Tokens are only available with the Bath Chronicle, Frome Standard and Somerset Guardian publications. All tokens must be original only, photocopies will not be accepted and all tokens must be bought and paid for at the full cover price. No tokens that have been obtained through promotional copies will be accepted. If it is found to be the case those prize draw slips thought to be illegally submitted will be removed from the count.
  14. The winner(s) must reside within the Bath Chronicle, Frome Standard or Somerset Guardian circulation areas.
  15. The wedding must not exceed the budgets allocated from individual suppliers, if it does; it is the responsibility of the winner to cover the difference. If the amount is less than the allocated budget from each supplier the winner will not be credited the difference.
  16. Any extras required (e.g additional flowers, drinks, breakages) are the responsibility of the winner(s).
  17. Any additional cost accrued above and beyond that agreed by individual prize providers will be paid for by the winner(s), who will be required to pay the difference in full. This includes additional guests and upgrades of any prizes offered.

  19. 19. The Editors decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  20. The Bath Chronicle, Frome Standard or Somerset Guardian cannot be held responsible for events after the winners have been announced.
  21. Prizes are provided in their entirety by third party sponsors and Trinity Mirror accepts no responsibility for any technical, operational, financial or other reasons that may result in any facility to be closed, no longer trading or unavailable at any time. The newspapers accept no responsibility for any injury, loss or damage caused by any aspect of the competition or prize package.
  22. Winners agree to address any claims in respect of any prize direct with the relevant prize sponsor. The health and safety of the wedding party nor that of wedding guests is not the responsibility of Trinity Mirror nor individual prize sponsors at any time.
  23. Whilst same-sex and heterosexual couples are equally eligible to enter, we regret we cannot alter prizes stated to specifically cater for same-sex weddings where requirements may differ.
  24. In the event the winner(s) are completely unable to take up the prize and have given reasonable notice, Trinity Mirror may offer the prize to another couple drawn at random.
  25. Sale of the prize package as a whole or any part of the prize for profit by any party is strictly forbidden.
  26. Some of the pictures taken on the day may be used for editorial coverage. By entering the competition you accept that you may be required to take part in online, social media and in paper publicity.
  27. It is the winner(s) responsibility to take out any Wedding or Travel Insurance policies as deemed necessary, and not that of Trinity Mirror or individual prize sponsors. Pre-booking is essential, without exception, for every aspect of the wedding prize; all responsibility lies with the winner(s) to contact individual prize providers with their requirements as soon as possible with a reasonable time period before the wedding, and not with Trinity Mirror or individual prize sponsors.
  28. The winner(s) will not have preference over other customers.
  29. The winner(s) are required, as a condition of the prize, to arrange all necessary appointments, viewings and trials as soon as possible after being informed of their win. We would stress that early contact is highly advisable to avoid disappointment and to ensure the exact specifications of colour, size and other preferences.

A deposit has been paid to reserve a registrar for 1pm on Saturday 17th March 2018, however the remaining balance must be paid for by the winning couple at least 2 calendar months before the date of your ceremony.
